Exploring Cartridges- Lifes a beach

Today my friend Susan and I are exploring the cartridge LIFE'S A BEACH.

Here is a project I came up with:

Recipe:
Cricut
  *Lifes A beach Cartridge
Paper
  *SEI, DCWV
Brad, Button, Twine, Black Gel Pen

What I liked about this cartridge was:
I really really love the font on this cartridge!  It is super duper cute.  I also love all the
fun cuts this cartridge has.  It is really simple layering and very kid friendly.

Look what my friend Susan created with this cartridge:

Recipe:
Life Is A Beach Cartridge
Computer generated sentiment
Sandy Lion stickers
Eyelet Outlet brads and flower grommet
D.C.W.V, Core'dinations, Echo Park (For the Record) & The Paper Co.
My Minds Eye Lime Twist Twine
Stickles & Glossy Accents
Peachy Keen Stamps
What Susan liked about this cartridge was:
I love Life Is A Beach because it's light hearted and fun.  This cartridge is so versatile.  You can make a fun card or you can make one that is more serious and pretty.  It has a really neat font with it too that kind of reminds me of a tiki hut.  I hope you enjoy this little octopus.  I have been wanting to cut her out for awhile.

Be sure to stop by Susan's blog for lots of great projects:)

Treat Tin- EAD Designs

Hello Everyone!  I hope you are all having a fabulous Saturday!

I am excited to share a quick project with you today.

Remember when I did the project with my white canisters and product from EAD designs?  If not, you can check out that post here

Anyways, there was a few more labels that I didn't use for that project.
There is a really cute label for TREATS.
I have been thinking for a while something that I could use this tag before.

I decided to make a little treat canister for the Sundays School Children I teach at church.
I picked up a cute tin from Target for $1.00

I added the cute TREAT tag and some embellishments to make it extra fun.

Now I just need to find some yummy treats to fill it with.

Teach Me Tuesday- Using Hello Kitty Cartridge

I totally forgot to make sure this posted yesterday, good thing
I checked today (even if it one day late)

Question-  How do you layer cuts from HELLO KITTY GREETINGS cricut cartridge?

First off, this cartridge is super cute!  I love all the cuts on this cartridge, great cuts for every season!
When I first got this cartridge, it was a little confusing on how to layer because all the cuts seemed to have a weird shape and didn't look like they were sized right.  After a little playing I realized how super easy it is.

The trick to make it easy when layering is to remember:
TREAT EVERY CUT AS IF IT HAS A SHADOW

I cut the basic Hello Kitty Face out of my cricut and here are all the pieces.

I added the big white face portion remembering that it has a shadow...
Same with the bow pieces

Same as the nose and ear
I cut out the cute butterfly and did the same steps.

I made this super quick layout with these cuts.  Sorry for the lighting in the pictures, I had just a minute to hurry and snap pictures before I had to run errands.

Items Used:
*Hello Kitty Greeting Cricut Cartridge
Paper:  SEI, DCWV

I hope this answered some of your questions about layering cuts from Hello Kitty Greetings.

Have a how-to question you want answered?
Send me an email with your question and my friends and I will answer it:)

A QUICK gift idea for EVERY occassion

Hi everyone! I hope you are having a fabulous Saturday!
I have a very quick and fun project for you today.
If you are anything like me, you always do things last minute.
It drives my DH crazy... it actually drives me crazy too!

Well this past week me and the DH were in Lowes picking up some "manly" tools.
I am a total wanderer and try to keep myself entertained while the DH spends what
seem like hours looking around at the newest and coolest tools...

I decided to go check out the floor covering area
and came across some fun little 4 inch tiles for only $o.33
WOOT WOOT

I had a fun idea pop into my head-
'Why not get a bunch of these and make gifts for weddings, birthdays, holidays...'

I remembered seeing some vinyl sheets on the EAD Designs website when I was browsing the day before. I knew I had the best idea for quick gifts ever!

I ordered some vinyl and pulled out my cricut- picked an image and went to work.
And TADA!

I made these fun tiles! They would be great for coasters or just a decorative piece.

Want to make some tiles like these?
*Next time you are shopping with the DH for the "coolest" tools, pick up some tiles.
*Order some Fabulous Vinyl Sheets from EAD DESIGNS:
http://stencilwords.com/ocart/index.php?route=product/category&path=37_52

And you are all set for those quick last minute gifts.
