The stroy of a Hoarder and a $1 Frame

Hi Everyone! I hope I didn't scare you off with
the title of this post...

I am a little addicted to the tv show hoarders, actually
I'm obsessed. For some reason if I am not in the mood to
clean my house, I turn on the show and IMMEDIATELY I start to
clean and junk all the things that I don't use or need.

I have a little confession... I am a hoarder when it comes to
my craft supplies. I some how feel the need that I need all the
newest paper packs, tools and embellishments my little craftroom can fit.
I would say 70% off the paper packs and embellishments are still in the package the way
I purchased them. I always think for every new project I
make I need to go buy all new supplies.

This week I went to Micheals and bought a $1 wood frame. After browsing the scrapbook section for products to use to embellish my frame, I decided
it is time for a change. I no longer want to become a Craft Hoarder!!!!
I went to the checkout with only the frame in my hands and handed it to the cute girl at the counter who was been my cashier many many many times.

I could tell by the look on her face that she was in shock too... My usually purchase of $50+ was only $1.06.

I went home set my frame on the craft desk and started browsing through my supplies and here is what I came up with.

Products Used:
$1 Wood Frame from Micheals
Paper from Kassidys HUGE unopened stack
Tim Holtz Ink
Prima flowers that I had to have a couple months ago
*Vinyl from EAD Designs (I love this vinyl, and the people at EAD Designs are so fast with creating and shipping whatever I need done)

Thanks to the show Hoarders and EAD Designs I am one step closer to getting over my addiction!
... I think....

  1. Great frame! I also need to use my stash and stop buying!

  2. I love that show also!!! My house is never cleaner than after watching it :)
    Your frame is beautiful!!!

  3. Your frame is sweet. Love the flowers on it.
I know exactly what you mean about hoarding and how sad is it when I go to M's with a 50% coupon in my grubby ink stained little paw and can't find anything to buy? I will have to go give my stash a turn-over this weekend and put some of that great stuff to use. Thanks for sharing your project and the inspiration! :)

  4. What a beautiful frame! Great job on using what you have. I am a hoarder when it comes to my craft stash as well. It is an obsession...,I am glad that I am not the only one. Now if I could use all the expensive equipment I have bought as well like my Imagine or Yudu (still in box) The fact that I have 2 expressions (1 in box never opened) and the new E2. I won't even talk about the Creatopia that I bought and have yet to use! It's bad!

  5. Love this!! I am a hoarder as well! I have so many things that I have not used. TFS!

  6. Great way to use up your stash! I confess that I too love that show, and yes, I am also a craft supply hoarder (you never know when you may need that extra little scrap piece). Frame looks terrific! :)Amy

  7. Aren't we all hoarders of craft supplies? A couple of years ago, I was happy that I had hoarded so much. It was Christmas time, I was unemployed, I have 6 kids and at the time, 4 grandkids. With all my hoard, I was able to do gifts for everyone with out buying anything but adhesive!! So, sometimes it is good to hoard!!

  8. My husband hates that I watch Hoarder's but it makes want to clean my house and keep it so uncluttered. So actually he should be thankful!! I am the same as you with my craft supplies. I don't throw anything away. Who knows when I might need it for that one special project!! I love the frame it is adorable!!

  9. Such a cute idea! I always buy new scrapbooking supplies instead of seeing what I already have. I just need to be more organized!

  10. I agree with you I need to use what I have and stop buying!! Your frame is beautiful..

  11. your frame is so pretty!!!!!
oh I love that show too, and have the same feelings, LOL
My name is Sherri and I am a craft hoarder, I see projects and videos from blogs, and I must have stuff I see in them...

  12. Wow your frame turn out great!! Im just like soon as I start to watch the show I also start to clean and get rid of things lol. I even tols my husband. I think I need to record the show so than when I dont feel like cleaning I just watch it and that will get me in the mode to clean lol.

  14. I love the show too, unbelievable. I try not to hoard craft stuff too. Soo hard:)

  15. woo hoo! I know I totally am a hoarder too! There are so many embellishments or paper that I see and think it is so beautiful and I have to have it, but then I never use it because I just keep "saving" it for the right project! Thanks so much for reminding me that the point of buying these beautiful things is to share my work with others!

  16. thought I was reading a story about me! Ugh! Since I bought my crack, I mean my Cricut a few months ago I can't seem to pass a Joanns or Michaels without getting the shakes!! Especially since the Joanns is going out of biz and everything is on sale!! My drawers are spilling over but I am just going to say NO to anymore paper unless I HAVE to have it!

  17. Beautiful frame! Love it.--Pat N.

  18. I just started crafting again a little over a year ago, I dont have to much right now. But I can see how I allways need something else for what ever Im working on!! It gets crazy!

  19. So you think until your DT starts to tell you about deals!! LOL!! That is a GORGEOUS frame! I'm proud of you for walking out with JUST the frame...I would've grabbed 5 of them!! LOL

  20. This frame is amazing!!! I beyond love that vinyl!!
    Big HUGS

  21. Great frame!!
I need to learn to be less of a supply horder.

  22. Love the frame Kassidy. I also love watching the show Hoarders. It is really so unbelievable that people can actually live that way. What a horrible disease. Congrats on using your own supplies at home instead of adding to the hoarding pile. LOL.
