Hi Everyone! I hope I didn't scare you off with
the title of this post...
I am a little addicted to the tv show hoarders, actually
I'm obsessed. For some reason if I am not in the mood to
clean my house, I turn on the show and IMMEDIATELY I start to
clean and junk all the things that I don't use or need.
I have a little confession... I am a hoarder when it comes to
my craft supplies. I some how feel the need that I need all the
newest paper packs, tools and embellishments my little craftroom can fit.
I would say 70% off the paper packs and embellishments are still in the package the way
I purchased them. I always think for every new project I
make I need to go buy all new supplies.
This week I went to Micheals and bought a $1 wood frame. After browsing the scrapbook section for products to use to embellish my frame, I decided
it is time for a change. I no longer want to become a Craft Hoarder!!!!
I went to the checkout with only the frame in my hands and handed it to the cute girl at the counter who was been my cashier many many many times.
I could tell by the look on her face that she was in shock too... My usually purchase of $50+ was only $1.06.
I went home set my frame on the craft desk and started browsing through my supplies and here is what I came up with.
Products Used:
$1 Wood Frame from Micheals
Paper from Kassidys HUGE unopened stack
Tim Holtz Ink
Prima flowers that I had to have a couple months ago
*Vinyl from EAD Designs (I love this vinyl, and the people at EAD Designs are so fast with creating and shipping whatever I need done)
Thanks to the show Hoarders and EAD Designs I am one step closer to getting over my addiction!
... I think....

Your frame is sweet. Love the flowers on it.
ReplyDeleteI know exactly what you mean about hoarding and how sad is it when I go to M's with a 50% coupon in my grubby ink stained little paw and can't find anything to buy? I will have to go give my stash a turn-over this weekend and put some of that great stuff to use. Thanks for sharing your project and the inspiration! :)
What a beautiful frame! Great job on using what you have. I am a hoarder when it comes to my craft stash as well. It is an obsession...,I am glad that I am not the only one. Now if I could use all the expensive equipment I have bought as well like my Imagine or Yudu (still in box) The fact that I have 2 expressions (1 in box never opened) and the new E2. I won't even talk about the Creatopia that I bought and have yet to use! It's bad!
ReplyDeleteLove this!! I am a hoarder as well! I have so many things that I have not used. TFS!
ReplyDeleteGreat way to use up your stash! I confess that I too love that show, and yes, I am also a craft supply hoarder (you never know when you may need that extra little scrap piece). Frame looks terrific! :)Amy

Aren't we all hoarders of craft supplies? A couple of years ago, I was happy that I had hoarded so much. It was Christmas time, I was unemployed, I have 6 kids and at the time, 4 grandkids. With all my hoard, I was able to do gifts for everyone with out buying anything but adhesive!! So, sometimes it is good to hoard!!
ReplyDeleteMy husband hates that I watch Hoarder's but it makes want to clean my house and keep it so uncluttered. So actually he should be thankful!! I am the same as you with my craft supplies. I don't throw anything away. Who knows when I might need it for that one special project!! I love the frame it is adorable!!

Such a cute idea! I always buy new scrapbooking supplies instead of seeing what I already have. I just need to be more organized!

ReplyDeleteI love the show too, unbelievable. I try not to hoard craft stuff too. Soo hard:)
ReplyDeletewoo hoo! I know I totally am a hoarder too! There are so many embellishments or paper that I see and think it is so beautiful and I have to have it, but then I never use it because I just keep "saving" it for the right project! Thanks so much for reminding me that the point of buying these beautiful things is to share my work with others!

thought I was reading a story about me! Ugh! Since I bought my crack, I mean my Cricut a few months ago I can't seem to pass a Joanns or Michaels without getting the shakes!! Especially since the Joanns is going out of biz and everything is on sale!! My drawers are spilling over but I am just going to say NO to anymore paper unless I HAVE to have it!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful frame! Love it.--Pat N.

Great frame!!
ReplyDeleteI need to learn to be less of a supply horder.
Love the frame Kassidy. I also love watching the show Hoarders. It is really so unbelievable that people can actually live that way. What a horrible disease. Congrats on using your own supplies at home instead of adding to the hoarding pile. LOL.
